Idowu Abdullahi The World Health Organisation on Thursday released its first-ever global guideline on the management of sickle cell disease during pregnancy. The guideline, WHO said, would address a critical and growing health challenge that can have life-threatening consequences for both women and babies. SCD is a group of inherited blood disorders characterised by abnormally shaped red blood cells that resemble crescents or sickles, the global health body said. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has stated that a total of 6,260 terrorists have been killed across the country through joint military operations in the past two years. The Deputy Director of Defence Media Operations, Brig.-Gen. Ibrahim Abu-Mawashi, revealed this while giving an overview of troops’ achievements in two years at the expanded parley with media executives at the DHQ, on Thursday.
