The National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives has given the Federal Government a seven-day notice, urging improved welfare, fair allowances, and better working conditions for nurses. The Kano State Government has declared Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) a major but preventable public health burden, with over 1.2 million residents currently living with the life-threatening disease. The Federal Government has revealed that Nigeria loses between N13.3 trillion and N17.9 trillion annually in direct and indirect costs due to hepatitis.
