Moyinoluwa Olajide Nearly one in five chemotherapy drugs tested in parts of sub-Saharan Africa is either dangerously underdosed or overdosed, according to new research co-authored by Nigerian postgraduate student Ekezie Okorigwe at the University of Notre Dame, United States. The large-scale study, published in The Lancet Global Health, analysed 251 samples of seven commonly used cancer drugs collected from hospitals, pharmacies, and informal suppliers in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, and Cameroon between April 2023 and February 2024. The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas (rtd), and the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) have been dragged before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to challenge the conduct of local council elections in the state.
