The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has disowned and distanced itself from statements and actions of Honourable Nafiu Bala, describing him as an impostor who is neither a member of the party. Nafi’u Bala, a former governorship candidate of the party in Gombe State and ex-national deputy chairman, had declared himself the interim national chairman of the party. The Police Command in Anambra says it has arrested a 65-year-old man, Akpan Godwin, for allegedly possessing 1,100 rounds of live ammunition in Nkpor, Onitsha. The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said this in a statement on Saturday in Awka. Ikenga disclosed that the police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Akwuzu, while acting on credible information on Friday, arrested the suspect with the ammunition. Tofarati Ige, Oghenovo Egodo-Michael, Daniel Ayantoye Fresh concerns have trailed the release of the 2025 Annual DNA Testing Report by a testing centre in Lagos, which revealed that Nigeria’s paternity exclusion rate currently stands at 25 per cent. The Federal Government has vowed to hunt down and prosecute the killers of more than 50 worshippers murdered during a mosque attack in Malumfashi, Katsina State.
