Leaders and stakeholders from 22 local government areas in Oyo State, under the aegis of the G22 Renewed Group, have opposed what they described as the continued political dominance of Ibadan in producing the state’s governors at the expense of other regions. The Nigeria Police Force says it has uncovered credible leads on the gun suppliers who armed the gang accused of killing Arise News anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu. The development follows the arrest of 12 suspects linked to the September 29, 2025, robbery and murder at Unique Apartments, Katampe Extension, Abuja, where Maduagwu and security guard Barnabas Danlami were killed.
