Senior medical experts have revealed that about 60 per cent of limb amputations in Nigeria are linked to diabetes, raising concerns over the growing burden of the disease and its complications. They explained that poorly managed diabetes often leads to foot ulcers, infections, and reduced blood flow. When untreated, they said these conditions can result in irreversible tissue damage requiring amputation of the affected limb.
