An early morning fire outbreak has occurred at Nkwo Enugu-Ukwu Market Square, in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Friday, burning some shops and destroying other valuables. The Nigerian Navy Board has approved the promotion of 127 senior officers to various ranks. Navy spokesman Commodore Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu said in a statement on Friday that the promotions were released on Thursday. As a part of preparations to ensure hitch-free Christmas celebrations, operatives of the Imo State police command few days ago stormed hideouts of some suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and cult members, arresting them. The Federal Capital Territory Administration has commenced enforcement against owners of over 1,000 properties in Abuja who have failed to settle statutory land-related charges, despite several months of public notices and warnings.
