The Federal Government on Thursday destroyed 2,819 illicit and decommissioned small arms and light weapons in Abuja, raising the total number of illegal weapons permanently removed from circulation to about 19,000. This is as the government warned arms traffickers that every weapon in their possession would eventually be traced and destroyed. The Nigerian Medical Association, Ogun State chapter, has expressed concern over the shortage of medical doctors in the state, revealing that only about 1,200 physicians are currently serving an estimated population of nine million people.
