The Cross River State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested nine suspects and seized 2.635kg of drugs in Calabar, Cross River State. The commander of the agency, Rachael Umebuali, disclosed this in an interview in Calabar, Monday. She disclosed that following complaints and tip-off by some residents, the agency raided Bogobiri, Effio Ette, and mechanic village 8 Miles and arrested the suspects alongside the exhibits. “We received complaints and tip-offs from some residents in these areas, and we went out for the dislodgement of these black spots and flash areas,” she said. “They converge here…

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, awarded a N150, 000 fine against Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, the embattled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s National Secretary, for stalling the judgment in his suit filed to challenge his planned removal. Justice Inyang Ekwo awarded the fine after Anyanwu’s lawyer, Ken Njemanze, SAN, begged the court that he had just filed a motion to amend the suit, notwithstanding that the matter was fixed for judgment.
