The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has condemned the use of fake agrochemicals and pesticides for crop yield and the preservation of poultry birds. The Ogun Area II Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has generated over N15 billion in excise duties between January and April 2025, signaling a 40 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024. The Federal Medical Center Abuja on Friday disclosed that it has performed its first living-donor kidney transplant procedures. The management of the facility, in a statement on Friday, revealed that the surgery was carried out on a 69-year-old male Nigerian on May 6, 2025.  The 69-year-old was said to have suffered from end-stage renal disease, a condition which affects the functions of the kidneys.  According to the statement, a 39-year-old close relative of the patient donated one of his kidneys to the recipient, allowing for a life-saving transplant. An underground power cable suspected vandal was electrocuted while he was trying to steal armoured cables at the State Secretariat, New Complex in Dutse, Jigawa State.
