A yet-to-be-identified police officer yesterday allegedly killed a 14-year-old student, Taiwo Alade, in the Alakia area of Ibadan, Oyo State, sparking protests in the city. The boy reportedly died from a stray bullet fired by the officer, who was said to be pursuing a fleeing vehicle along Gbagi Market Road in Alakia. According to eyewitnesses, the officer opened fire in an attempt to stop the suspect. Idowu Abdullahi Over 180,000 Nigerian doctors have left the country in the past two decades due to poor welfare and working conditions, the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors has said.
