Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has pledged to focus fully on governance following the withdrawal of the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi, at the Supreme Court challenging his victory in the November 16, 2024, governorship election.
Speaking through the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, the governor described the decision as the final step in bringing all post-election litigations to a close.
Aiyedatiwa commended Ajayi for his sportsmanship and appreciated President Bola Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for their unwavering support.
“The Supreme Court’s verdict has affirmed the overwhelming victory of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, who won convincingly across all 18 local government areas, a feat popularly celebrated as the ‘18–0 Promax’ mandate,” Ajanaku said.
He added that the judgment validated the will of the people and reinforced confidence in the democratic process.
Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to God, party members, and the people of Ondo State for their support and called on political stakeholders to work with his administration in building a greater state.
“Now that the legal contest is over, which has understandably posed distractions since the swearing-in, the focus is fully back on governance. Our administration is determined to deliver on its promises through the ‘Our Ease Agenda,’ which is already yielding results across critical sectors,” he said.
The governor assured residents that the coming months would bring accelerated development, purposeful leadership, and transformational projects aimed at lifting Ondo State to new heights of progress and prosperity.
