Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche has taken to social media to showcase his Europa League winner’s medal earned during his time with Crystal Palace, Soccernet.ng reports.
The versatile Nigerian star spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace from Getafe. Prior to the move, Uche had established himself as Getafe’s standout performer, but the Spanish club eventually offloaded him to raise funds.
Much was expected of Uche in England, given his impressive showing in Spain; however, he struggled to make an impact, playing just 159 minutes in the Premier League.

His opportunities were similarly limited in the Europa League, where he was included in Crystal Palace’s squad only for the first half of the season before being omitted for the knockout stages.
Despite his limited involvement, Uche was still awarded a gold medal when Crystal Palace went on to win the competition. On Saturday, the 23-year-old took to social media to share the achievement with his followers.
Christantus Uche Flaunts Europa League Medal With Interesting Message
While the medal was the focus of his post, his accompanying caption drew significant attention. Uche wrote: “A devilish person might try to bring you down with their wicked actions, but you are resilient and blessed, rising above their negativity. Thank you, UEFA.”

Although Uche did not name anyone directly, the post is could be viewed as a veiled dig at former Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner.
The Nigerian endured a frustrating campaign under the Austrian tactician, who rarely offered him the opportunity to prove his worth and consistently left him out of matchday squads.

Toward the end of last season, Uche openly expressed his feeling that Glasner had a personal dislike for him. While such claims remain unsubstantiated, his frustration was understandable given his lack of playing time.
Now that he is back at Getafe, the Super Eagles star will be looking to put his difficult Premier League stint behind him and get his career back on track.
