Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is on the verge of becoming the highest-scoring foreigner in a single season for Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor, Soccernet.ng reports.
Onuachu has enjoyed a brilliant campaign at Trabzonspor, contributing 22 goals and two assists in just 25 appearances.
His goals have propelled the team to third place in the Turkish top flight, leaving them just one point behind leaders Galatasaray.

Having accounted for roughly 40 percent of the team’s league goals, his clinical form has ensured that they have a genuine shot at winning their first title since 2022.
The 31-year-old striker has been remarkably dynamic, making him a nightmare for defenders. While he has dominated the air with nine headed goals this year, he is equally deadly with his feet.
Earlier this season, Onuachu broke Burak Yilmaz’s club record for the most goals scored in consecutive games. Now, he is closing in on an even bigger milestone.
According to Aksam Spor, three more goals will see him surpass Alexander Sørloth’s record of 24 goals in a single season.
The current Atlético Madrid star set that mark during the 2019/20 season, recording 24 goals and eight assists in 34 appearances for the Black Sea Storm.
Also, if Onuachu finds the net four more times, he will eclipse Shota Arveladze’s long-standing record of 25 goals in a single campaign.
Paul Onuachu A Striker Reborn
Given his current form, it is impossible to bet against him. Onuachu has averaged nearly a goal per game; had he not departed for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, he likely would have shattered these records already.
This represents the former Southampton man’s most prolific season since 2020/21. It is a significant career resurgence for the striker, especially following his previous struggles in England.
With six games remaining and Trabzonspor actively chasing the Super Lig title, Onuachu has every incentive to keep banging in the goals and cement his place in the club’s history books.
