One person has died in an auto crash that occurred on Monday evening around the Old Faari filling station axis of the Ijebu-Ode-Ibadan expressway.
Five other persons also sustained varying degrees of injuries from the accident. A Toyota Previa (BLACK) with Registration Number: APP 963GU was involved in the accident.
Spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi said that the crash was a lone one where one person died and five others sustained injuries.
He said the accident was due to excessive spending on the part of the driver of the Toyota car, who lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a nearby bush along the road.
The Corps’ Public Relations Officer said that TRACE officials, police, and operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were on the ground for rescue operations.
Akinbiyi noted that the deceased had been taken to Ijebu-Ode State Hospital morgue while the injured victims had been rescued to Ola Oluwa Hospital, Ago Iwoye.
He said that the accidented vehicles had been evacuated from the roadsides to the Police Cage at Oru Ijebu, to clear the road for traffic.
