Douye Diri, the Bayelsa State Governor praised his Delta Counterpart, Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for building schools instead of correctional centres.
The Bayelsa Governor lauded Okowa during the commissioning of Ighogbadu Secondary school in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Sen. Douye Diri said, “if you don’t want to build schools to educate your people then be prepared to build more prisons.
Diri said, “the Government of Delta State is building schools rather than building prisons.”
For building what Diri tagged gigantic school, he thanked Okowa and tagged him a “workaholic-governor” as he said he sees doctors, governors, presidents, lawyers in the school.

Reacting to the praise, Govenor Okowa promised to build extra classroom blocks to cater to the educational needs of the people in the area.
Okowa said there is no amount of money and time that is too much to take care of the people’s education.
The Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom in Warri, HRM Emmanuel Ono Okumagba JP, who also attended the commissioning, noted that the newly constructed school lacks tutor as he appealed to Governor Okowa to employ qualified indigenes in his community to work in the secondary school.
The Royal father appealed to the Governor to use his wisdom of catchment area to employ young people in his community to work in the school.
